Create a modern architectural entrance using our exclusive 40x40mm aluminium batten gate system.
Our gates combine a strong aluminium gate frame with a vertical 40x40mm batten facade. Every gate is custom cut to your required frame width and height, then supplied flat packed for you to assemble and install yourself.
The batten facade is designed to sit over the gate frame, giving the gate a full, modern appearance with more aluminium coverage and concealed fixings.
HOW TO GET A FAST GATE QUOTE
Send us the following information:
- The finished opening width between your posts or walls
- The required gate height
- Your preferred colour
- Your required gap between the batten edges
- Whether it is a pedestrian, single swing, double swing or sliding gate
- Whether you also require aluminium posts
Important: Gate frame width is not always the same as the opening width. Clearance must be allowed for hinges, locks and posts.
ALLOW FOR HINGES AND LOCK CLEARANCES
If using our standard hardware, allow approximately:
- 25mm hinge-side clearance for our pivot hinges
- 20mm lock-side clearance for most gate locks

GATE TYPES AVAILABLE
CHOOSE YOUR BATTEN GAP
The closer the battens are positioned, the more privacy the gate provides. Smaller gaps use more aluminium and will therefore cost more.
TOTAL GATE DEPTH
The 40x40mm battens extend in front of the horizontal batten rail and the aluminium gate frame. The finished gate has an approximate total depth of 130mm.

Gates can be installed between your own timber, steel or masonry posts, or you can purchase matching aluminium posts from us.
- 76x76mm aluminium posts — $40 per metre

Gate frame width must be adjusted if posts are being added to the opening.

BASIC DIY GATE ASSEMBLY
- Assemble the aluminium gate frame and check that it is square.
- Position the top and bottom batten rails at the required distance from the ends of the battens.
- Use the supplied cutting sheet to identify the correct starting hole for the first batten.
- Attach the battens across the top rail using the pre-punched holes.
- Square the batten facade and attach the bottom rail.
- Fix the completed batten facade over the gate frame.
- Fit the rail covers to conceal the screws.
- Install the hinges, lock and other hardware, allowing the required side clearances.
MATCHING FENCING AND PRIVACY SCREENS
We can also supply matching fence panels, privacy screens and facades using the same 40x40mm aluminium battens.

IMPORTANT ORDER INFORMATION
- A $100 deposit is required for each custom-cut gate for pickup orders.
- Our standard cutting days are Tuesday and Thursday.
- Orders should be confirmed before the required cutting day.
- Protective film may remain on the aluminium for you to remove after installation.
- Allow a manufacturing tolerance of approximately 3–6mm.
- Final batten gaps may be adjusted slightly so the pattern fits evenly across the gate.
- Hardware, posts and locks may be priced separately unless included in your quote.
